So, once again, too long no blog.
I meant to blog on Monday when I was SO GRATEFUL that Harli is a big dog with a hard head! I loaded her and my mountain bike into the back of the Hemi and was about a block and a half away from the house, right past the church and alley oop, Harli jumped out! She did at least 2 flips after the lip skid, but she jumped right up and wandered around...the minivan coming the opposite way stopped and asked if she was OK, and with a little prompting she jumped in the back (SEAT) of the truck. I am not putting her in the back again. It was so scary! She was bleeding. Not bad but drop drop drop...from her chin and from a broken claw. Her dew claw was broken in half (she wouldn't let me touch it to try to trim it), she has road rash on her chin and shoulder, and one of her claws is broken past the quick. She didn't want any part of the peroxide, I had to sneak up on the claw...she was laying on the floor and I just poured it over her whole foot. She really seemed no worse for the wear by that afternoon, thank goodness she is a tough girl! I tried to get some pics of her wounds but she wasn't having any of it!
The next bit of news I just HAVE to blog is ....ta da da da....
You are reading about a girl who is only half braced. Yes, that is right, I got my top braces off today! (the bottom still had a gap so 6 more weeks for those babies) I must say my teeth look phenomenal! I am loving them! I got a glow in the dark ORANGE retainer, it's cool but it make it hard to talk and it is hitting my gag reflex a little...that will take a little getting used to, I guess. I will tell you that if you ever consider braces go for the stainless steel. If I had it to do over I would save the money and the PAIN! Having them removed was the most painful thing about having them. It felt like Clarissa was pulling my teeth out. I cried. I had to make her stop so I could catch my breath. It HURT! But it only hurt for the moment she was actually pulling the bracket off the tooth, then it was all ok. The sound of the grinding wheel and the smell of tooth paste (not toothpaste, but actual dust off my teeth) was not pleasant, but not painful either. I must say I can't stop smiling with my "new front teeth"...Jason says they are "not so prominent" (I said "you mean not prominent any more" and he continued "not so prominent"...ok so my 2 front teeth are big, at least they don't stick out anymore!)
I will post pics once I am no longer a brace face at all!
