Jas says "Its Good!"

So, this is not the actual kidney stone Jas passed this morning, but it is as close of an approximation as we could come up with...he woke me up at 6am to come and see what was in the bottom of the toilet (it didn't flush the first time, so Jas took that as a sign he needs to show me!) As if there wasn't already enough evidence that maybe 4 wheelers aren't the answer? Jarring = HUGE stones?
This picture so does not capture the colors in Jason's foot, it looks even worse today than yesterday, yet he says it is fine...he worked 10 hours standing on it, so it must be fine...
Does anyone beside me think he may be mistaken?

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and concern...he guarantees all is well! In fact he just said he will be back on his bike by next Wednesday. I somehow doubt that, call me crazy!

The Down Side of Dumont Dunes...

You may have met Jason previously...you may even have met his "chicken legs"...
the skinniest part of those legs previously known as skinny are the ankles.
The following may be disturbing to some viewers. These are live pictures. While no Chickens were harmed in the making of these pictures, so chicken legs may have been...
Some have blamed the years that have passed in our "young" lives. Some have blamed me (Jas has decided that it is easier on everyone involved if my "grace" does not result in the most flamboyant injury and therefore the most "pain" for all involved...I say, I am not a whiner and I have just learned through my many years of being graceful, how to fall, wreck, stumble and crash and not get hurt...I have gotten more flexible...he would disagree). Some may even believe this new myth that Jas is just accident prone. I believe that this just may be the lengths to which Jason will go to avoid riding bicycles with me (you see, he wants to gain weight, not lose it and if he rides his bike he gets leaner, not heavier...while I, my friends, am just the opposite...I must ride to get leaner, if I do nothing I have absolutely no problem gaining weight!)
Behold- Jason's newest excuse not to ride bikes with me--

These are Jason's "CHICKEN LEGS" (pay no attention to the ice pack that doubles as frozen spinach, nor the ratty blanket that Herc has taken over)...
This is Jason's "skinny" ankle, on frozen spinach, but also Jason's ankle after having been run over by a crazy 4 wheeler driver...a driver named Jasonson....
He was riding along, leisurely minding his own business, in 5th gear wide open across the flats at Dumont, on Mr. Smith's 450 (which performs like magic), Minding his own business, when out of nowhere a 2 ft berm jumped out of nowhere.
Thank the dune lords Jason is strong and knows how to ride and got lucky. Otherwise he may have ended up like the guy who was waiting on the coroner when we got to the dunes, under a blanket, dead. Or the other guy off to the ER with his foot barely attached and a second "mouth" across his neck after casing the "double" that looked like 2 dunes 140 ft apart to many spectators. No Jason rode it out. He did a hand stand on the bike, thought he had landed it, right up until his right foot missed the peg and went under the back tire at 60 mph.
This is Jason's foot on after being run over (by himself).

He really likes the swelling in the calf. Makes him feel buffed. Except for the part where he can't walk and it hurts really bad, and he is supposed to stay off it, elevate it, and ice it for at least 10 days and if it isn't better then...well then he probably tore some thing I can't spell, that holds your ankle to your knee, through your shin bones...and takes forever to heal. He seems to specialize in this taking forever to heal thing...first the swollen bone marrow in the wrist, now the unpronounceable, and unspellable injury to the leg. He is supposed to wear the moon boot thing (notice it is missing in these pictures, it makes it hard to stand up for long periods and hard to walk and he says doesn't feel that good).
I swear, he is not accident prone, he is not too old to play this hard, he is simply trying to avoid getting skinnier by riding his bike with his voluptuous wife. You are off the hook Jas. Buck up little camper, this is gonna hurt a little! Love you baby. Call me on the cell phone when you need something, I am on the net...

Dumont, Dogs, Family and Fun!

We went to Dumont this past weekend. We had an excellent time, for the most part.
The bean and KM came along and had fun!
The Lefler family was representing...This is JD's 2nd Birthday, what better way to turn 2?
We were happy, happy, happy, as usual.
Cousin Adam teaching the dogs to "take nice"...Brutus is the most gentle snack taker I have ever met, he barely touches you, no teeth involved, even when it is super delicious camping food!
The weekend was WONDERFUL! Rainbows, sunshine, warmth, a little rain, a tiny bit o wind, but all in all WONDERFUL weather in lovely Death Valley (which is why the end of Feb. trip is the last trip of the year--Coral Pink Dunes here we come starting in March).
Even old man Hercules got to go on this trip. The whole way there he reminded us why we don't usually take him along. He gets anxiety and whines while we are traveling, but he was so excited when he got loaded up along with the rest of the gear! And then there were kids galore there, and they all loved him, of course! One little girl gave him "kisses" right back, so cute, she was a little curly hair blond cupid and she licked him right back on the chops. (It was so not gross, really really sweet and cute--I am not biased!) Herc and baby Blade (the new Eckel Rottweiler baby, who is going to be HUGE!) got along great, Herc and Brutus might just both be too spoiled for their own good and so we kept their growly butts separated!Brutus thinks he is the baby and a lap dog...Heidi agrees!
Blade was not sure if she liked the Bean or Herc better....the Bean LOVED this puppy!
But not quite as much as daddy Adam loves this baby! Isn't she beautiful? She is only about 4 months old, look at those paws...and her fur is so soft, she is going to be a beautiful girl!
We did have fun at Dumont.
We borrowed Mr. Smith's 4 wheelers to try out that avenue and the Airstream before we commit to buying Banshees. It was much easier loading up and the bathroom facilities were far superior to the port a potty in a tent!
When Tami went over doing a broadey (I can't believe I don't know how to spell that!!) in 4th gear on the 400 EX and did some "slick ninja moves" to avoid being caught under the 4 wheeler as it flipped, hard on the first ride out we all thought the casualties were out of the way early...so much for thinking...see the next post...

Happy Valentine's Day!

We enjoyed an excellent steak dinner at Jasonson's restaurant in the back yard yesterday...
The bean and boyfriend joined us, she made super delicious cherry limeaid and chocolate covered strawberries for desert, heavenly!
The lamp oil spilled a bit, so we decided to warm ourselves up from the inside out.
And ta da...

The bed is finished! It is a beautiful masterpiece! I LOVE IT~ couldn't ask for a better birthday/Valentine gift. Thanks Jas, I love you!

Things I LOVE!

We are totally back on the bikes baby! Rode Snow Canyon with Sandra K today...though her Cross Fit and indoor riding has led to her kicking my trash, it was still an awesome ride.
I Love living in a place where we can ride our bikes in February, it is almost Spring! Plus you can't beat the scenery...red hills, black rocks, white rocks, and snow capped mountains in the distance (far distance--works for me).
Isn't this biker cute? And his bike isn't hard to look at either!
Since I know that making goals public makes it much more likely that I'll be successful in achieving them I will now tell you all my goal- starting today-- I will ride my bike an average of 100 miles per week for the next 16 weeks! (That will lead to me being prepared for the Little Red Riding Hood all girls century on June 5, 2010--I signed up yesterday!

See what I said? CUTE! I can't believe I didn't even take a pic of Jas when he cut off the goatee and left a full beard about the length of the new goatee...he did it to look more friendly (he scared a customer who he had to help at Mega Pro last week)...the comments he got included: "I didn't realize your face was so round" and "It's different", so he took off the beard--its still a friendlier look than the 4 inch goatee, right? Of course I never thought he looked mean or intimidating, he is just my monchichi monchichi, who's so soft and cuddly anyway.

He loves his bus? This look is my justification for driving it now until it gets too hot! I love to drive the bus, it makes me smiley and happy!

Herc LOVES the bus. He can get in and out all by himself!

I love these boys. Doesn't Herc look like he is saying "I love you dad"?
I also love hiking and I love living in St. George where we can go hiking 2 minutes from our house, it is such a beautiful place too. (I went back and added the part about loving where we live at the top after writing this one, I decided you can't talk about the beauty of where we live too much).
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Herc. He is back to being a spritey young dog, you couldn't tell he is going to be 12 in March! We swear by Vitamin C and Joint Balm!
(the thyroid medicine helps too)
