Dumont, Dogs, Family and Fun!

We went to Dumont this past weekend. We had an excellent time, for the most part.
The bean and KM came along and had fun!
The Lefler family was representing...This is JD's 2nd Birthday, what better way to turn 2?
We were happy, happy, happy, as usual.
Cousin Adam teaching the dogs to "take nice"...Brutus is the most gentle snack taker I have ever met, he barely touches you, no teeth involved, even when it is super delicious camping food!
The weekend was WONDERFUL! Rainbows, sunshine, warmth, a little rain, a tiny bit o wind, but all in all WONDERFUL weather in lovely Death Valley (which is why the end of Feb. trip is the last trip of the year--Coral Pink Dunes here we come starting in March).
Even old man Hercules got to go on this trip. The whole way there he reminded us why we don't usually take him along. He gets anxiety and whines while we are traveling, but he was so excited when he got loaded up along with the rest of the gear! And then there were kids galore there, and they all loved him, of course! One little girl gave him "kisses" right back, so cute, she was a little curly hair blond cupid and she licked him right back on the chops. (It was so not gross, really really sweet and cute--I am not biased!) Herc and baby Blade (the new Eckel Rottweiler baby, who is going to be HUGE!) got along great, Herc and Brutus might just both be too spoiled for their own good and so we kept their growly butts separated!Brutus thinks he is the baby and a lap dog...Heidi agrees!
Blade was not sure if she liked the Bean or Herc better....the Bean LOVED this puppy!
But not quite as much as daddy Adam loves this baby! Isn't she beautiful? She is only about 4 months old, look at those paws...and her fur is so soft, she is going to be a beautiful girl!
We did have fun at Dumont.
We borrowed Mr. Smith's 4 wheelers to try out that avenue and the Airstream before we commit to buying Banshees. It was much easier loading up and the bathroom facilities were far superior to the port a potty in a tent!
When Tami went over doing a broadey (I can't believe I don't know how to spell that!!) in 4th gear on the 400 EX and did some "slick ninja moves" to avoid being caught under the 4 wheeler as it flipped, hard on the first ride out we all thought the casualties were out of the way early...so much for thinking...see the next post...
