Today I am ever so grateful for the fantastic people that I work with in my management group. I left the office at 6am and drove an hour to Cedar City where I met my friend Jill and then we drove together to Springville (3 more hours) to meet with our Rural Management group. It is a terrific group of people who I enjoy immensely. We learned that our budgets to run programs within Juvenile Justice Services have been cut by 4 %, in spite of many costs going up...so now we have to do what we did this year with less money next year, when costs are going up...yet we are all united in knowing that we will do what is necessary to make sure that the kids and families in our communities get the services they need. We will figure out a way to make it work- "doing more with less", that is the mantra for human services agencies across our state! Thank goodness for dedicated folks who will get the job done and make a difference ANYWAY!
I am also amazed at my intention of living in the now showing up in my management meeting today! We are striving to ensure Procedural Justice in our work and my boss put up 2 quotes that focused on living in the moment and asked us to talk about how that relates to our work with troubled/delinquent youth.... NOW is all we have! Live it! If it doesn't feel good, find a thought, action, idea or whatever that feels better NOW!
I am also so very grateful for the beautiful sunset last night and then the sunrise this morning....
The Sunset last night was cottoncandy clouds, burning to flaming-O and then blazing indigo into the mountains, I saw that on my bike ride. Then this morning the cottoncandy melted into orange creamsicle and made me eversograteful for my sunglasses!
